How do you apply for the Equity Bank Mortgage?

  1. Navigate to the KCB website. Follow this link.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and find a digital form. Fill in the information required as listed:
    • Full Name
    • Email Address
    • Phone Number
    • Select whether you are applying for the mortgage or just making an inquiry
    • Type in a custom message describing your Mortgage specifications
    • Click “Send Inquiry
  3. Wait for an email or phone call from KCB customer care who will direct you further.

What are the minimum requirements needed for the application?

KCB has several criteria that you must fulfil to be approved for their home mortgage package. These criteria are subdivided into four categories:

#1. Employed persons

  • Your pay slips for the last 3 months
  • A letter from the employer confirming your employment status
  • Bank statements for the latest 6 months
  • National ID or valid Passport
  • Your KRA PIN certificate
  • Three passport-size photographs
  • The sale agreement was duly signed by both parties and witnessed by a lawyer.
  • Title to the property being purchased/charged (minimum lease term must be at least 35 years)
  • Open a mortgage account with an opening balance of Kshs.10,000
  • A third of your basic salary is to be left to cater for your living expenses

  • Certificate of Registration & Trading License
  • Partnership Deeds
  • Audited Books of Accounts
  • Income tax return
  • Tenancy agreements for rented properties/rental schedules

#3. Limited Companies & Investment Groups

  • Memorandum & Articles of Association
  • Certificate of Incorporation
  • Audited Books of Accounts
  • Your KRA PIN Certificate

  • Directors’ Resolution to Borrow

#4. Construction

  • Approved building plans
  • Approved structural drawings

External Application Fees
