Defence Cabinet Secretary Hon. Eugene Wamalwa has received a stern reply from the DP William Ruto who stated that despite the man speaking ill of him (Ruto), he is the one responsible for his job as the CS for defence.

William Ruto made this statement today after Mr. Wamalwa stated that Ruto almost slapped him back in 2017 when the Uhu-ruto win was nullified by court.

How did it start?

The slapping story started when an audio leak exposed the DP saying that he could have slapped President Uhuru Kenyatta because he had decided to quit, saying that he could not bear the trauma and depression.

At the time, as Uhuru Kenyatta later confirmed, political tension was high in the country and Uhuru was not ready to risk losing the nation to bloodshed. Uhuru Kenyatta preferred to go back to his Gatundu residence and retire from politics.

At the time of audio release, Uhuru and Ruto’s acknowledged that it the information was indeed true and explained themselves duly. This alone was quite ironical as many expected Uhuru to deny the audio allegations.

Wamalwa’s accusations

Eugene Wamalwa therefore made a public statement saying that Ruto was fond of trying to slap fellow colleagues and that he once attempted to slap him but failed.

CS Wamalwa made the claims last week during an Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya campaigns in Bukhungu Stadium, Kakamega.

In response to Wamalwa, the DP reiterated that it was he that bargained for Wamalwa’s Job as CS for Defense.

The heated debate between the two political leaders has been going on for a while now. Mr. Wamalwa has since demanded that the DP respect him while campaigning in the Western region of Kenya.

If it was not for me, he would be tarmacking. I’m the one who took him from the streets and gave him the CS job. He should stop talking too much
