President William Ruto, is expected to make major changes in the security docket to align to his agenda.
This move by the new president will particularly affect the top security officials that were referred to as the ‘system’ during the rule of Uhuru Kenyatta as the 4th President of the republic of Kenya.
Following the fallout of former President Uhuru Kenyatta and President William Ruto, the latter declared that he did not need the ‘system’ to win the election, but rather the help of God and the support from Kenyan citizens.

During his campaigns, President Ruto made several attacks on the system for unfair treatment and unconstitutional involvement in politics.
Overhaul of the national security sector.
The overhaul by the Country’s chief commander could seriously affect the personalities in the former-ruling coalition that were frequently referred to as ‘deep-state’ days before the August 9th general election.
H.E. Ruto will therefore restructure the security dockets including the National government Administration Officers (NGAO). He accused NGAO of taking part in politics alleging that they campaigned for Raila and his Azimio bandwagon.
DP Rigathi – NGAO members will not be victimized
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua hinted at changes in the security sector during the weekend of 24th-25th September 2022.
“Give us two to three weeks for us to have a new Interior Cabinet Secretary who knows what he/she will be doing. Allow us to have an Interior Principal Secretary who has the urge of working for the people,” he said.

Members of Ngao who campaigned for Azimio will not be victimized, he added, noting that they were just following orders.
However, the mentioned NGAO members would be given new responsibilities “which will have a positive impact on Kenyans”.

Cabinet Secretary office limitations
The choreographed attacks on the Uhuru-era administrators come days after CSs of the previous government being barred from foreign travel and approving tender payments, and making appointments to huge state-jobs, in their final days of office as they ride out following their chief Uhuru Kenyatta.
In this presidential decree, the Cabinet Secretaries are restricted from effective payments of more than Ksh.50 million without approval of the National treasury. According to outsourced information, the move is aimed to curb last-minute spending spree by outgoing officials.
