Raila Odinga has on 15th September 2022 declared that the Judiciary was unjust in its ruling to uphold William Samoei’s win as the President of Kenya. Speaking at Sarova Whitesands in Mombasa County, the Azimio chieftain stated that the country cannot be led by a judiciary that is partial.
Raila Odinga’s Sentiments
Jose Carmago Saga
Mr. Odinga further alleged that it was not logical as to why the Apex court would disregard Jose Carmago as a suspect who was used by the IEBC and Kenya Kwanza to subvert the will of the people in favour of William Ruto.
“It is sad how people of this country woke up to vote but one man by the name Jose Camargo from Venezuela comes to dictate who becomes the President of this country. We respected the apex court but we do not agree with their findings. We are waiting for the final detailed judgment they said they will issue because we have remained with less than 10 days,” said Mr Odinga.
Hot Air
This comes 10 days after the Supreme Court made a verdict to disregard 9 petitions against IEBC and Kenya Kwanza. In the verdict, the Apex court termed the allegations by Azimio and Okiya Omtatah etc., as ‘hot air’.
The move by Raila Odinga to attack the Judiciary days after they stated that they respected the Judicial ruling came as a shock to many Kenyans.

“A machine that was used to transmit results in Meru is the same that was used in Nyeri and the court decides to take the matter lightly. Shame on the Judiciary of this country. You have created a mess.”

“I am seeing them trying to threaten people but we will talk because it is our right. The Constitution gives power to the people while all those others are donated powers. The Judiciary is no exception. If they become rogue, we have power as people of this country to reform them. We can lead a one million march and send them back home. They will have no choice but to do so. They should not threaten and blackmail the people of this country after the mess they have done,” said Mr Odinga.
Martha Karua’s stand with the SCOK and the EACJ
In relation to this, Martha Karua had on 11th September stated that she is looking forward to filing a case at the the East African Court Of Justice in matter regarding the Supreme Court ruling.
“Lakini kuvunjika kwa mwiko sio mwisho wa upishi…hakuna mahali ingine tunaweza kuenda kubishana kiti ya urais, lakini tunaweza peleka mahali pengine ndio tuelewe kweli korti yetu ilitupatia haki. Sasa sio mambo ya uchaguzi, mambo ya haki, vile nilienda wakati ule mwingine.”
Conclusion
As it stands, Odinga and his running mate seem to be working on a contingency plan. No one seems to understand what Azimio is planning, but for sure, nothing significant will happen to change William Ruto’s win.
