Justina Wamae, has on 22nd September Officially resigned from Roots Party led by George Wajackoyah. This came a few minutes after the aspiring politician retweeted President William Ruto’s meeting with Jamaican President Andrew Holness under the tag #Legalize Hemp.

The former Wajackoyah running mate has been on the spotlight in the past few months due to misunderstanding between her and the rest of the Roots Party led by George Wajackoyah.

Contents of the Wamae’s resignation letter

In the letter tendered to the Roots party secretary general, Justina said that her role as the Roots Party Presidential running mate ended when H.E. William Ruto was elected as the president of the republic of Kenya on the 16th of August 2022, and the subsequent upholding of the declaration by the Supreme Court of Kenya on the 5th of September 2022.

“In this regard, I tender my resignation as member of the Roots Party of Kenya. Kindly accord the ORPP the requirements for my name’s prompt removal from your party register,” the statement clarified.



The letter was received and stamped by the Roots Party secretary general in Cara House, Karen Road – Nairobi.

“A party is not entitled to funding if they do not have elected members. The hostility besides the project was that MIZIZI will benefit from the fund. I have voluntarily resigned they can now eat HOT AIR. Watch this space,” Justina stated.

Justina had earlier refused to resign from the party

Justina who had initially refused to resign and claimed it will haunt her career as it has former Nairobi Deputy Governor Polycarp Igathe and Azimio La Umoja Coalition running mate Martha Karua.

“I will not resign because I don’t want Martha Karua’s burden of resigning and being told that she left Kibaki, just like Igathe after he was told he left Sonko. I will wait for Wajackoyah to dismiss me,” she stated on August 26.
