Garissa MP-elect Aden Duale has on 7th September 2022 stated that the four dissenting IEBC commissioners should be evicted from office. This comes after the commissioners denied the presidential election results stating that what Wafula Chebukati was about to declare on 15th August 2022 was not IEBC’s decision.
The four commissioners accept/respect supreme court verdict
The four commissioners; Julianna Cherera (Deputy Chairperson), Justus Nyangaya, Francis Wanderi and Irene Masit disowned the results, citing the “opaqueness” of the final process of verification.

Despite their decision to distance themselves from the presidential results, the Supreme Court led by Chief Justice Martha Koome upheld William Ruto’s win and explained that the petitioners did not provide ‘water-tight’ evidence/proof in addition to fabrication and manipulation of evidence that was provided at the Apex Court.
The four Commissioners, following the ruling made on 5th September 2022, came out and accepted the Supreme Court Ruling. They further stated that they fully respect the verdict made by the Judiciary (which dismissed their petition challenging the results).
“After the Supreme Court of Kenya made her [sic] ruling yesterday on the Presidential election petition particularly with regard to our role as commissioners, we wish to convey our appreciation to the Honorable Judges of the Supreme Court of Kenya and confirm that we respect their collective decisions,” they said in a joint statement on Tuesday.”

However, Duale Aden, in a twitter thread in the late evening of 6th September 2022, stated that the four commissioners abused the Kenyan people. The member of Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance proceeded to describe the commissioners as proxies of unnamed ‘masters’ who had become desperate after bitterly losing to William Samoei Ruto.

He further stated that the commissioners nearly tossed the country into a crisis.
“These are the same Commissioners who took Kenyans for a ride as they appeared in media conferences with the 0.01% embarrassing circus in what they called “mathematical absurdity”,” he added.

“They went ahead and filed pleadings and tons of paragraphs in fabricated affidavits alleging and lying how ‘the results were unverified and never approved’ and hence they begged, prayed and forever prayed that the Supreme Court would nullify the elections,” said Duale.
The outspoken legislator says they acted in “pure blatant gross violation of the constitution and the law for attempting to subvert the will of people through fabrications.”
He wants them held accountable “both individually and collectively”, and be thrown out of office on grounds of gross misconduct and violation of the constitution.
